Who I Am
A curious student of the world, committed to understanding international affairs from an academic and humanistic perspective.
My name is Bawar Salah Saeed, and I am currently pursuing a degree in International Relations in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. My academic journey is driven by a genuine curiosity about how the world works — how nations relate to one another, how institutions shape global order, and how local communities navigate the broader currents of international change.
Growing up in Duhok, a city at the intersection of multiple cultural and political spheres, gave me an early appreciation for the complexities of regional identity, governance, and diplomacy. That lived experience continues to inform my academic interests and my desire to contribute to informed public discourse on international affairs.
Throughout my studies, I have explored a wide range of subjects — from classical IR theory to contemporary foreign policy analysis, from the institutional architecture of international organizations to the dynamics of regional politics in the Middle East. I believe that academic rigor, combined with a balanced and open-minded approach, is essential to understanding a world that is constantly evolving.
Beyond the classroom, I stay engaged with current events, read widely across perspectives, and work to translate academic insights into accessible writing. This website is a space where I share that work.
Studying how nations build and maintain relationships through dialogue, negotiation, and shared institutions.
Examining how government decisions are made and what evidence shapes effective international policy.
Deep-diving into the Kurdistan Region's political and social development within its broader regional context.
Translating complex international events and theories into clear, balanced, and accessible written analysis.
